Air an Oir is a purpose built, secluded, one bed-roomed property offering luxury self catering accommodation with panoramic sea views in Portree, Isle of Skye.
The property is tucked away on a crag overlooking the sea at the end of a long private drive. Being in Portree, the main town on the Isle of Skye, it benefits from being within walking distance to shops, restaurants and other services, yet its location also offers guests with frequent sightings of otters, seals, sea-eagles and other wildlife. We receive nightly, close-up visits from pine martens and the odd visit from a young red deer.
Built of Siberian larch and with large treble glazed windows to maximise views, Air an Oir has been designed to very high standards and has a contemporary coastal interior design theme.
It is the perfect place for a honeymoon or a complete rest at one with the landscape and nature.

You otter see this…
One night recently, our car park camera was tripped by two young otters playing. They can often be seen hunting in the bay below the house, along with seals and numerous seabirds. We have regular visits from a variety of wildlife including the occasional red deer.
Pine martens…
Pine martens are elusive animals but some have become nightly visitors to Air an Oir and have been feeding on peanuts, grapes and eggs left in our feeder right outside the lounge window. They are also partial to peanut butter and jam sandwiches. This clip was filmed by some guests.
New tune called Air an Oir…
Here you can listen to a specially composed tune by top band Folky MacFolk Face after one of their talented musicians stayed at Air an Oir. Look out for their album of the same name coming out soon!
